Tokyo is capital and largest
city of Japan.

The 23 city wards(ku) are the center of Tokyo consists of 23 city

Prior to 1868, Tokyo was known as Edo. A small castle town in the 16th
century, Edo become japan's political center in 1603 when Tokugawa
Ieyasu estabilished his feudal goverment there. A few decades later, edo
had grown intoone of the world's most populous cities.
With the Meiji Restotation of
1868, the emperor and capital were moved from Kyoto to Edo, which was
renamed Tokyo (Eastern Capital). Large parts of Tokyo were destroyed in
the Great kanto earthquake of 1923 and in the air raids of 1945.

Kamakura is located one
hour south of Tokyo.
Kamakura become the political center of Japan from 12th to 14th century.
And the estabilishment of it's successor the Muromachior Ahikaga
goverment in Kyoto. Kamakura remained the political center of Eastern
Japan for some time before losing its position to other cities.
Today, kamakura is very popular tourist destination. Kamakura offers
numerous temples, shrines and other historical monuments.
Sometime called the Kyoto of Eastern Japan.
